THIS MONTH'S SPEAKER
COUNCILMAN BENJAMIN LOPEZ
Councilman Ben Lopez was first elected to the Montclair City Council in the November 2020 election. Councilman Lopez is the first conservative Republican Latino to be elected to his city council.
In his brief 3 years on the council, Councilman Lopez has been a staunch defender of medical freedom and choice. He was the only council member to fight against coerced injections on city employees and the disclosure of their vaccination status. His position on that garnered him a threat from OSHA.
But it is for his work in the conservative pro-family movement that Councilman Lopez is being sued by city employees hitting him with multi-million dollar lawsuits. Those in the local far-left, socialist, “woke” mob have trumped up politically motivated accusations and charges against Ben with the sole attempt at destroying him personally, financially, and politically…even going so far as to demand a two-week trial in court to smear him just weeks before his November 2024 re-election.
Councilman Lopez will share similarities with the charges he is facing and those of other conservatives. Councilman Lopez is lifetime resident of Montclair, born in Upland. Ben began his interest in politics and public policy at the young age of 8 when he walked precincts for the re-election for President Ronald Reagan in 1984.
Ben has served as an elected member, alternate and ex-officio member of the San Bernardino County Republican Central Committee since he was 17. He is presently the body’s parliamentarian and secretary and serves as the 4th District caucus chair.
